Sarah completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Geological Sciences from Queen’s University. She is Niagara born, and has always had a keen interest in her environmental surroundings encouraged by living out in the country, hiking, canoeing and rowing. After earning her degree Sarah travelled throughout Europe where the urge of helping the environment and maintaining its biodiversity grew, which eventually brought her back home to continue to volunteer with environmental organizations within the Niagara region.
Sarah joined the LCN staff team in May 2023, and gained skills and experience while working on all of our projects. Sarah was the main lead on the American Water Willow translocation project (the first in Ontario), involving experimental design, monitoring and detailed scientific reporting for this Threatened species and will be returning to continue this work in 2024. Sarah has proved herself as an excellent addition to the team and we are ecstatic to have her. She is excited to be part of the Land Care Niagara team and is not only thrilled to do hands-on work, but to share these projects and environmental knowledge to the Niagara community.
