Michelle was born in Scotland and moved to Canada as she had a keen interest in Canadian ecology and wildlife. Michelle has a Bachelor of Science degree with honours from the University of Glasgow in Scotland and Masters of Science degree in Biology from Laurentian University in Sudbury, ON. She has worked in the Environmental sector in the Niagara Region since 2011 with experience at multiple levels, having worked for the Ontario Government as a management biologist for 10 years, and on stewardship activities in Niagara since 2013. Additionally, as an entrepreneur she has founded and run 2 businesses to date.
Michelle has been the Executive Director at Land Care Niagara since 2021, was the Stewardship Manager of Land Care Niagara from 2013-2015 and also volunteered in the time between! This experience with the organization has made her very passionate about the mission of Land Care Niagara and in aiding the ecosystem and community of Niagara Region. She is always striving to advocate for the natural environment and has dedicated much of her professional and personal time to helping Ontario’s Species at Risk.
