Jackie grew up in Niagara and returned to the area in 2010. Since her return she has been an advocate for the conservation and promotion of all that Niagara naturally provides. She has worked with groups such as the Welland Heritage Council, Niagara College Seniors Program, Ridgeway Horticultural Society, and Retired Teachers Association of Niagara to teach workshops on growing home gardens and the benefits of plants in one’s home. She has been a panel speaker for the Canadian Greenhouse Conference and has worked with stakeholders as an Outreach Coordinator for the Greenbelt Foundation during the successful Ontario Land Use Planning Review, where the Foundation was the recipient of an Environmental Leadership award from the Greater Niagara Chamber of Commerce. In her spare time she loves spending time tending to her garden in the summers and being a passionate Buffalo Bills fan in the off season.
