After moving to Niagara from Mississauga, Sara enjoyed the quieter pace of the area and pursued her passions in house plants, gardening and hiking. After graduating from the Environmental Technician Program at Niagara College, she continued her academic interest in environmental sciences by completing a certification as a Ontario Master Naturalist from Lakehead University. From 15-21, she was a public speaker who spoke at her high school, and for organizations such as Cameron Helps, The Shriners Foundation, Credit Valley Hospital, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, advocating for mental health awareness and living with invisible chronic illness. She wishes to give back to her community and the environment by taking back time that once was not promised and utilizing it to help educate about invasive pests with her training from OMAFRA, sustainability, and the importance of forest and plant health. Sara joined the Land Care Niagara Volunteer Corps to gain more experience and completed her contract role as an environmental technician in August 2024. Sara is thrilled to continue being a member of the Volunteer Corps and helping LCN reach community outreach and restoration goals.
